The Rural Polytechnic Institute of Training and Applied Research (IPR-IFRA), Katibougou and the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques (FST); University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako (USTT-B), Mali in collaboration with the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS), the Center for Development Research at the University of Bonn (ZEF) and the Institute for Technology and Resources Management in the Tropics and Subtropics (ITT) at the TH Köln (University of Applied Sciences), Abdou Moumouni University of Niamey, Pan African University, Institute of Water and Energy Sciences (including Climate Change) (PAUWES) Algeria announced in March 2018 a call for 4 Master thesis scholarships applications.
The scholarships will be provided in the frame of the project “Risk Assessment and Reduction Strategies for Sustainable Urban Resource Supply in Sub-Saharan Africa – Focus on Sustainable Energy Supply in Mali (RARSUS-SEMALI)” funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
Based on Bachelor degree performance, Curriculum Vitae (CV) and grades in the current Master courses, students were invited to submit a Master thesis proposal with a topic addressing a problem in line with the research agenda at PAUWES or related to the research questions on: rainfed agriculture , food security , water information systems, early warning system, changing climatic patterns, irrigated agriculture e.tc.
The call was primarily for masters students from the Rural Polytechnic Institute of Training and Applied Research of Katibougou (IPR-IFRA). The selected students will be supervised by experts at Rural Polytechnic Institute of Training and Applied Research of Katibougou (IPR-IFRA) and possibly an expert from United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS), depending on the topic chosen for the Master thesis. The scholarship started this July and will end in January 2019.
